C++ Learning Guide

Privacy policy

Last updated 2 October 2026

In short: there's no account. Your profile and progress stay on your phone. The app shows no ads and never sells data. It uses Google's Firebase Analytics for anonymous statistics about how lessons and challenges are used, so we can improve them, and Google Play for the Pro purchase.

Who we are

The C++ Learning Guide is an Android app made by TopicDev. In this policy, "we" means TopicDev, which is responsible for the data described here.

What stays on your phone

These are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone, and never sent to us:

Depending on your phone's settings, Android may include this data in your device backup to your Google account. That backup is managed by Google, not by us.

Usage statistics

The app uses Google's Firebase Analytics. It collects this automatically:

The app also sends events about your learning, so we can see which content works and which is too hard:

Your profile (name, age, gender and experience level) is never included. We don't show ads, and we don't use this information for advertising. Google keeps it for up to 14 months. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. See the Google privacy policy and Firebase privacy information.

The Pro purchase

Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Google handles the payment, and we never see your card or payment details. The app asks Google Play whether you own Pro so it can unlock it.

Reminders, reviews and updates

The daily practice reminders are created on your phone and need no server; you can turn them off in your phone's notification settings. Google Play may ask you to rate the app or offer you an update; those prompts are handled by Google Play.

What we never do

Why we use your data

We use usage statistics because we have a legitimate interest in improving the lessons and keeping the app working well, and purchase data to give you what you paid for. Where the law gives you that right, you can object to usage statistics by writing to us.

Where your data is processed

Google may process data from Firebase and Google Play in the European Union, the United States and other countries, under the safeguards described in its own privacy policy.

Your rights and deleting your data

To delete everything on your phone, tap RESET next to factory_reset() in the app's settings, or uninstall the app. Usage statistics aren't linked to your name or email and are deleted automatically after 14 months at most. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to us and we'll help.

Children

The app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll publish the new version here with a new date, and mention important changes in the app's release notes.
