MD Editor

Privacy policy

Last updated 2 October 2026

In short: MD Editor collects nothing. There's no account, no analytics and no ads, and the app never connects to the internet by itself. Your notes and settings stay on your PC.

Who we are

MD Editor is a markdown reader and editor for Windows, made by TopicDev. In this policy, "we" means TopicDev and "the app" means MD Editor.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting of its own, no advertising and no account, and we have no server that it talks to. We never see your files, your notes or how you use the app.

What stays on your PC

To work the way you expect, the app keeps a few things on your own computer:

Your markdown files are read from and saved to the places you choose. The app never uploads or copies them anywhere else.

The internet

The app doesn't connect to the internet. Math formulas are drawn by a copy of MathJax built into the app, not loaded from the web. If you click a web link inside a document or in the About window, it opens in your web browser, and that website's own privacy policy applies from there.

Microsoft Store and Windows

MD Editor is sold through the Microsoft Store. Your purchase, payment and download are handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft privacy statement; we don't receive your payment details. Microsoft gives app publishers summary reports, such as the number of sales and, depending on your Windows diagnostic settings, crash summaries. These don't identify you to us.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling MD Editor removes its settings and drafts from your PC. Your markdown files are never touched; they stay wherever you saved them.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the app ever starts sending any data anywhere, this page will say so before that version is released.
