Delete your data

Last updated 2 October 2026

In short: most of your data is only on your phone, so uninstalling removes it. If you used Google sign-in, you can delete your Drive backup yourself and ask us to delete your sign-in record and your shared budget data.

1. Data on your phone

Your accounts, transactions, budgets and settings are stored only on your phone. To delete them, uninstall Topic Finance, or open your phone's Settings > Apps > Topic Finance > Storage and tap Clear data.

2. Your Google Drive backup

The backup is in a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive, which you control. To delete it:

  1. Open Google Drive in a web browser and sign in with the account you used in the app.
  2. Open Settings (the gear icon), then Manage apps.
  3. Find Topic Finance, open Options and choose Delete hidden app data.

3. Your sign-in record and shared budget

If you signed in with Google, you can leave a shared budget and sign out inside the app. To delete your sign-in record and everything you added to a shared budget, email support@topicdev.com from the Google address you signed in with, with the subject "Delete my Topic Finance data".

Within 30 days we'll delete:

Items other members added to a shared budget belong to them and stay, unless they delete them. We'll reply to confirm once your data is deleted.

4. Usage statistics

The anonymous usage statistics collected by Firebase Analytics aren't linked to your name or email, and are deleted automatically after 14 months at most. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
